With 23 votes, Amidžić elected Minister of Finance and Treasury, and Košarac Deputy to Krišto

(Patria) - At today's emergency session of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, where the appointment of Srđan Amidžić as Minister of Finance and Treasury and Staša Košarac as Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH was discussed, the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Borjana Krišto, addressed the session, explaining the agenda item.

SDA MP Midhat Čaušević stated that today we should congratulate Milorad Dodik, who issued an order this morning in East Sarajevo that Parliament is now implementing.

“It has never happened that we have the Director of the Indirect Taxation Authority and the Minister of Finance from the same matrix. When Dodik announced that he would get the Director of the ITA, various commentators began to dismiss the possibility, saying it wouldn't happen. And then it happened that a man trusted by Milorad Dodik was elected. Then we had an announcement that a new minister would be elected, and then some put on a show for the public. It should be clearly stated that what is the heart of the state, besides security, is money, and it is going in the direction of one paradigm, one matrix. One must be honest and state that certain processes are conditional, that certain individuals will not be ministers, etc., if they do not comply with what is asked of them,” said Čaušević.

He pointed out that some colleagues go to bed with one opinion and by noon have a third, which they try to convince us is the most correct.

SDA MP Safet Kešo (SDA) asked Amidžić if he would blackmail the BiH state because of the sanctions imposed on the entity of Republika Srpska, and thus secure money from the ITA BiH. However, Amidžić did not answer the MPs' questions.

Saša Magazinović (SDP BiH) stated that the conditions for Srđan Amidžić's appointment have been met today, but he is glad that the opposition is not disputing the candidate.

“The laws we voted on today are harmonized, but do not confuse the situation by being an opposition to the state rather than to the parties in power,” Magazinović said, addressing MP Kešo.

Kešo responded by stating that the SDA tried to improve those laws with amendments, regarding which the EU had also stated what was wrong.

Naša stranka MP Sabina Ćudić said that Predrag Kojović's amendments to the European laws were agreed upon with the EU Delegation both last week and this morning. Earlier, MP Zlatan Begić stated that it would soon become apparent that these are not European laws.

After the debate concluded, a vote was held on the proposed appointments.

23 MPs voted for the appointment of Srđan Amidžić and Staša Košarac, while 18 voted against. The MPs from SNSD with partners (8), HDZ BiH (4), SDP BiH (5), NIP (3), Naša stranka (2), and Aida Baručija, who claimed she would not vote for the minister because Milorad Dodik would not stop his demands, voted in favor of this decision. However, she changed her mind during the day.

After the vote, Amidžić took the oath.
