A Memorable View from the Sky Walk in Donja Morava

(Patria) - Donja Morava in western Czechia is a region of high mountains, ideal for walking and hiking, recreation and outdoor sports, writes Punkufer.

But pristine nature, sports oases and long ski slopes in the Králický Sněžník mountains are not the only things attracting visitors to this area.

The skyline of this mountain changed slightly in 2015, when the company Fránek Architects presented its debut project.

It is the Sky Walk, an 18-storey-high skywalk that from below looks like railway tracks have quarrelled, and from above - offers an incredible experience of walking in the sky.

The Sky Walk is built at an altitude of 1,116 metres, and the walkway itself rises 58.5 metres above the ground and is 750 metres long.

It is not accessed by stairs, but by specially designed ramps, so that the skywalk experience can also be enjoyed by people in wheelchairs or those pushing prams.

A lift is also built into the structure, but its use (in each direction) costs almost as much as the ticket for the walkway itself, for which adults will pay just under 13 euros.

The view from the walkway is spectacular, and the sense of extremity is heightened by the fact that there is no popular glass floor or similar transparent covering, but at every moment you see only a steel mesh beneath you.

The panoramic view of the Morava River valley and the surrounding mountains is unforgettable, and if you still crave more excitement, you should also visit the adrenaline suspension bridge nearby.

If you do not want to descend the way you climbed up to the viewpoint - no problem. You can return to the ground via a hundred-metre-long metal - slide.

The Sky Walk Donja Morava is a conceptual structure, made of glued laminated timber beams, meshed and placed on pillars.

The basic desire of the architectural team was for the building to blend in with its surroundings and nature, not to disturb it. The very shape of the walkway was inspired by - a butterfly flying towards the sky.
