SBiH Welcomes Schmidt's Statement Regarding Holding Elections

(Patria) - The Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomes the statement of the High Representative in BiH Christian Schmidt, who announced that in case there are no amendments to the Election Law, elections will be held
in the autumn of 2022 in accordance with the provisions of the existing law.

It is also important that the High Representative mentioned the need for a modern election law that ensures transparent elections according to established democratic standards and in accordance with the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.

This sends a message to those who hold the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina under blackmail, and the state institutions in blockade, that the rule of law must be respected. At this moment, it is necessary to protect the integrity of the electoral process and improve it technically to prevent theft and manipulation. Since we do not have full democratic levers as in other European countries, we call on the High Representative to use his powers and unblock processes where necessary so that capacities are directed towards economic prosperity, not further segregation and stagnation, it was announced.
