Ružnić: With Dismissals at KCUS, Nikšić Bypassed Laws and Excluded Cantons with Majority Bosniak Population

(Patria) - The FBiH Government, through swift dismissals and the appointment of a new Management and Supervisory Board of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS), at the direct proposal of Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić, who bypassed even the relevant minister, has once again literally demonstrated how little this composition of the federal government takes into account the interests of all cantons and citizens.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton, Mustafa Ružnić, explaining that the Statute of KCUS and the Law on Health Care of FBiH prescribe that dismissals and appointments are carried out by the FBiH Government upon the proposal of the federal Minister of Health, not upon the proposal of the Prime Minister of FBiH, as was the case here.

"What is particularly insulting is the fact that Prime Minister Nikšić, in his desire to hand over even the most important healthcare institution to HDZ cadres, completely ignored other cantons that nominate representatives to the management structure of KCUS," Ružnić stated.

He emphasizes that the Una-Sana Canton was not given the opportunity even to submit a response to the request for a recommendation for the appointment of a KCUS member who would represent the interests of this part of FBiH in the management structure of this healthcare institution.

"The federal prime minister bypassed the laws, the opinions of official canton institutions, and excluded cantons with a majority Bosniak population even from decision-making regarding the treatment of citizens in the Clinical Center.

We fear that the practice of neglecting the needs of certain parts of the state will not only be the fate of the Krajina region in the future, but also of Sarajevo residents and all those who do not meet the standards of the federal prime minister and his partners," Ružnić concluded.
