Ružnić: On whose orders and under whose control are Bosniaks being disarmed and weapons being removed from the 'Adil Bešić' barracks in Bihać?

(Patria) - Five days ago, the Government and Assembly of the Una-Sana Canton (USK) sent an alarming letter to all relevant addresses in the state, stating that large quantities of weapons are being removed from the Armed Forces barracks "Adil Bešić" in Bihać towards the Izačić border crossing and that this weaponry is being exported to Croatia.

From the competent institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, starting with the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Security, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as other competent bodies at the state level of BiH and the Federation of BiH, the Una-Sana Canton requested an urgent response regarding these disturbing and alarming pieces of information.

However, there has been no response, despite the letter stating that it was sent based on numerous reports from concerned citizens.

The Prime Minister of USK, Mustafa Ružnić, emphasises that the executive and legislative authorities in USK have taken the information about the removal of weapons from the "Adil Bešić" barracks in Bihać very seriously.

- Given that large quantities of weapons are being removed from the said barracks, citizens have pointed out that this reminds them of the principle of removing weapons from barracks in BiH at the beginning of the nineties of the last century, and we all know that this was the beginning of a scenario that ended with the genocide in Srebrenica and an attempt to exterminate Bosniaks in other parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We cannot ignore the fact that the territorial integrity and sovereignty of BiH are under constant attack from secessionist policies and that Bosniaks are openly threatened with a new genocide.

If we take into account the numerous examples of attacks on the state of BiH and Bosniaks, including the most recent case of the brutal beating of a minor in Osmaci, a returnee in the RS, we cannot remain blind, deaf and mute to the news of the removal of weapons from BiH under mysterious circumstances.

That is why we have asked state institutions for clarification as to why such a large quantity of weapons, on whose orders and under whose control, is being removed from the "Adil Bešić" barracks in Bihać and exported from BiH.

However, instead of at least those officials who call themselves pro-Bosnian urgently addressing the allegations from our letter, questions that concern all of us and are certainly a priority at this moment are still unanswered, and those who should speak clearly and loudly about them remain silent.

In the meantime, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Elmedin Konaković, has been amusing himself these days by passing the law on wine, celebrating it as one of the main steps for BiH's entry into the EU.

It is clear that we need regulations and laws harmonised with European ones in all areas, but security and the preservation of peace, especially in the current situation and circumstances, are far higher on the list of priorities than the aforementioned law.

It is even clearer to us that the announcement of the adoption of the Law on the Wine Market of BiH is of great importance for Dodik's Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Staša Košarac, Konaković's coalition partner who owns his own winery, so we have even more reason to suspect that, while many other reform laws of greater interest to the state of BiH are kept in drawers, this one on wine is considered a priority for adoption, solely because of someone's personal interests.

This is not the first time we are in a situation where those who should stand up to protect the interests of the state of BiH and Bosniaks, who are under constant threats and attacks, behave according to the principle "the village is burning, but the grandmother is combing her hair", because other officials of the Troika also did not react to our letter.

However, we are not all "intoxicated" by power and keeping our chairs at any cost, and there is certainly no calculation when it comes to security and the preservation of peace.

Although in this part of BiH we are great advocates for preserving peace and stability in BiH, taught by the painful and tragic experiences from the beginning of the nineties, we in Krajina do not agree to silence about the alarming data on the removal of weapons from the "Adil Bešić" barracks in Bihać and we will insist that this issue be fully and completely clarified, and we will not agree to Bosniaks being disarmed while the police in the RS are equipped with the most modern combat and armoured weapons and vehicles - concluded Prime Minister Ružnić.
