Ružnić asks OHR to impose a decision on temporary financing of USK

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Assembly of the Una-Sana Canton did not make a decision on temporary financing today either, which will mean that salaries for many budget users are in question, such as employees in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and in education. The SDA voted against the budget again. Given that tomorrow is February 1st, and that budget payments are not possible, the Government of USK held a session today at which it authorized Prime Minister Mustafa Ružnić to send information to the High Representative in BiH, who has so far resolved such situations by adopting decisions on temporary financing or their extension.

The High Representative has been asked to make the necessary decisions. Among the decisions adopted by the High Representative so far, we highlight the Decision on extending the temporary financing of the City of Mostar in 2009, which was extended for as long as 6 months, i.e., from April 1st to September 30th. Thus, after the Decision on temporary financing expired and the Budget was not adopted, the High Representative adopted a Decision for the next 6 months. The most interesting part of this decision is the article stating that compensation to councilors and political parties cannot be paid.

Whether the deputies will find understanding and common ground in the coming days and adopt important decisions, or whether USK will become a "canton case" and force the OHR to react, remains to be seen in the coming days.
