Roses and Fatiha for the Victims: Korićanske Stijene were the Last Stop for 200 Bosniaks

Two hundred roses were thrown today from the edge of the cliff at Korićanske Stijene in memory of 200 massacre victims. At the place where the names of the murdered were read, roses were thrown and Fatiha was recited. On August 21st, 24 years ago, members of the police intervention unit shot and threw the bodies of 200 Bosniaks, prisoners of the Prijedor camps, into the abyss, writes the Patria News Agency.

They were transported by buses via Vlašić under the pretext that they were being taken for an exchange and would soon be in Travnik. Instead of the road to Travnik, the buses stopped at Korićanske Stijene.

Darko Mrđa, Gordan Đurić, Ljubiša Četić, Zoran Babić, Milorad Škrbnić, Dušan Janković, Željko Stojnić, Saša Zečević, Marinko Lepoja, and Radoslav Knežević led the Bosniak prisoners to the edge of the cliff, shot them, and threw their bodies into the chasm.

They were sentenced to a total of 200 years in prison for this massacre. So far, 118 incomplete remains of the victims have been found, and 98 more are still being searched for.

The commemoration, organized by the Association of Camp Victims in BiH under the motto - Lest We Forget, Lest It Happen Again, was attended by family members, surviving prisoners of the Prijedor camps, friends, and government representatives.
