Routine Checks: Prijedor Resident Armed with Rifle, Knife, and Brass Knuckles

Police officers of the Public Security Center Prijedor, during the past weekend in the area of the city of Prijedor, carried out planned activities in the area of crime prevention and improving public order and peace, by increased control of persons and vehicles they operate, reports the Patria News Agency.

During the activities, a vehicle driven by M.B. from Prijedor was inspected, and a firearm - an automatic rifle and a certain amount of ammunition were found in the trunk.

The person voluntarily surrendered the found items, and police officers, with the consent of the acting prosecutor and based on the order of the Basic Court in Prijedor, searched the apartment used by M.B., during which a smaller amount of ammunition of various calibers was found and confiscated. All confiscated items have been deposited with the Basic Court Prijedor, and upon completion of the case, a report will be filed against M.B. for the committed criminal offense of unauthorized production and trafficking of weapons or explosives.

Also, during the planned activities, two persons from Prijedor were searched, and the possession of cold weapons (knives and brass knuckles) was determined, for which the persons committed an offense under the Law on Weapons and Ammunition. The found items were confiscated, and the persons were issued misdemeanor orders, it was announced from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska.
