Russian Ambassador: Ban on my visit to Srebrenica is indecent politicization

Ambassador of the Russian Federation to BiH Petar Ivancov commented on the stance of the leadership of the Organizing Committee for the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica tragedy, according to which he is not welcome at the commemoration on July 11, 2015, reports the Patria news agency. 

"I regret the stance of the leadership of the Organizing Committee that I am not welcome at the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica tragedy due to the veto on the British resolution in the UN Security Council," said Ivancov.

He added that he had planned to go to Srebrenica on July 11 and pay tribute to the victims of the tragic events of 1995.

"But, unfortunately, the stance of the Organizing Committee changed my plans. I want to convey my deep condolences to all families and loved ones of the victims of this terrible tragedy. I believe that the stance of the Organizing Committee is an example of indecent politicization of the commemoration, a threat we have warned about from the beginning," concluded Ivancov, as stated by the Embassy of the Russian Federation.
