The Russian army has deployed three "Pantsir" air defense systems on the Arctic island of Kotelny, which is part of the New Siberian Islands archipelago, reports the BH news agency Patria.
The "Pantsir" system is equipped with 30-millimeter rapid-fire automatic cannons and surface-to-air missiles.
It is intended for use in air defense systems and is tasked with protecting against low-flying, low-visibility aerial assets, including cruise missiles.
