(Patria) - An operational meeting of heads of police agencies – police administrations of Tuzla, Zenica-Doboj, Herzegovina-Neretva, West Herzegovina and Sarajevo Canton was held today at the headquarters of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton.
The meeting discussed the prevention of riots at sports events – primarily football matches, clashes between fan groups, and ensuring a safe environment during the arrival/departure of visiting fans.
It was emphasized that the common goal of the police, clubs, fan groups and the entire sports community is for matches to be played with fans present, but that the safety of citizens and property is paramount. Therefore, zero tolerance will be applied to fan riots, misuse of pyrotechnics, destruction of property and obstruction of officials in performing security duties.
At today's meeting, conclusions were adopted on the unified action of police agencies in securing football matches, as well as ensuring the travel of visiting fans.
