RS takes over competencies from BiH, MPs adopted more than 20 legal regulations in ten months

In the past year, Republika Srpska has adopted a number of legal regulations in several different areas, making this entity increasingly independent from the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an analysis by the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP) has shown.

For example, in just the last ten months, deputies of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska have adopted 18 legal regulations related to the food production control system, which is under the direct jurisdiction of Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e., the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH.

The trend of adopting legal solutions in the field of food production control in RS began after the dismissal of the state Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Mirko Šarović (SDS), who advocated for strengthening BiH institutions, and the appointment of the current SNSD minister, Boris Tučić, to his position.

In just the last few months, RS has also adopted the Law on Amendments to the Law on Property Tax, the Law on Survey and Cadastre, as well as a whole set of other legal regulations.

With such behavior, analysts warn, the authorities from RS are purposefully and directly undermining Bosnia and Herzegovina while strengthening the position of Republika Srpska, while many Bosniak politicians in the State Parliament are not showing sufficient resistance to stop this trend of undermining BiH, NAP writes.
