Divers from the Czech Republic destroy mines and explosive ordnance from the Una River

A diving team from the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, in cooperation with representatives of the Federal Administration of Civil Protection of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has begun removing and destroying mines and explosive ordnance from the Una River, in the wider area of Bihać. These activities will last until August 14, 2016.

This cooperation was established within the framework of a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic.

So far, the riverbed of the Sava River has been successfully cleared in the areas of Orašje, Odžak and Brčko, where a large number of various unexploded ordnance were found, and the extraction and destruction of two aerial bombs near Brčko is particularly significant.

The diving team from the Czech Republic will continue destroying mines and explosive ordnance from the Una River from August 29 to September 11, 2016.
