Parents of Children from the International Primary School: Lovrenović is Guilty of Media Witch Hunt and Lynching

A group of parents whose children attend the International Primary School has sent a letter to the media, which the Patria news agency transmits in full. 

First of all, we wish to express our deepest condolences to the mother who lost her beloved child. Until now, we did not wish to respond to the mother's accusations, out of deep respect for the mother and stepfather, because we thought that in their pain and despair they were not able to reason soberly and consciously about events, and because of all this they blamed everyone around them for their child's death. However, it is now clear to us that they are very aware of everything they are stating and that they are striving for unconditional revenge, and less and less calling for accountability.

Unfortunately, in that struggle, these parents are harming our children and permanently destroying the childhood of innocent children who are not guilty of anything, because by circumstance they shared school desks with the boy Mahir. 

As highly educated people and at the same time very influential, with whom we as parents deeply sympathize, they have launched a media witch hunt to destroy not only the lives of our children, but also to leave an indelible mark on the reputation of the entire family. This is about minor and innocent CHILDREN, whom they call monsters without any evidence that this evil actually happened, without the pedagogical sensitivity they constantly invoke, and they also consider themselves very professional educators. Our children have been raised with a lot of love to respect others and those who are different.

Public lynching and addressing children through the media with threats, presenting such terrible allegations and details that have not been proven to be true, is inhumane and unacceptable. Excuse us, but this is a public lynching carried out before any final verdict of the Court and the Law.

Mr. Lovrenović, the stepfather of the boy Mahir, with full public support, has already passed judgment on our children. And by what right?

„Congratulations“ to that highly educated man and respected professor, as he is still called, for very bravely and with great confidence presenting unfounded lies about the children and the school in the media, all the while manipulating our children whom he has mercilessly trampled on that path, calling them monsters and baselessly slandering them and destroying their childhood. Every story has two sides of the coin, and so does this one. Does anyone ask what the real truth is and where full responsibility lies?

As parents and as humane people, we are always on the side of justice and truth and we want all possible actions to be proven in court. As civilized people, do we have the right to wait for the outcome of the investigation and file a civil lawsuit against Mr. Lovrenović?

`We repeat, this is about CHILDREN who have their rights and who must be protected in every way. 

Mr. Lovrenović has found himself in the role of a „qadi“ who, with the full support of the media hungry for sensation, which he so perfidiously uses, and deliberately maintains daily attention and viewership, today sent two people to a parent-teacher meeting, who falsely presented themselves as being there on behalf of a former student of the school, who was expelled from the school two months ago. After the parent-teacher meeting, these individuals were reported to the Ilidža Police Station, where during questioning they admitted that they came on the orders of Mr. Lovrenović, of which there is also their statement in the police record. 

A group called „Justice for Mahir“ was founded on a social network, which, they say, aims to get to the truth, change laws, protect minors, but unfortunately it has become an instrument for the public lynching of children, parents and teachers of the International Primary School.

We ask the public to use reason. For us parents, and we believe for a large number of you, reason dictates that it cannot be right, without any evidence in the process of investigating the case and establishing the facts, to give such statements to the public!

These are terrible accusations that leave no one indifferent. Imagine someone publicly calling you and your child monsters, which is happening to us at this moment. 

With this letter, we appeal to the competent authorities and the media to stop this launched witch hunt, which has already crossed the boundaries of humanity and common sense and represents a serious violation and criminal offense that the competent authorities should also address. Linking our children to the tragic suicide has not been proven, and irreparable damage and severe emotional pain have already been inflicted. 

We believe it is very important to also hear the opinion of the biological father of the boy Mahir, which is necessary in shedding light on the entire case.

We seek truth and justice for Mahir, our children and all other children in the same or similar situation, and at the same time we will do everything to protect the children and the school from any public and unfounded condemnation.
