Hearing in the trial against Zubac delayed due to summer holidays

The hearing for Goran Zubac, Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), to enter a plea has not yet been scheduled, most likely because a large number of judges are on summer holidays, stated Meddžida Kreso, President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, today for the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

- Believe me, that is the primary reason. I don't know of any other reason. A large number of employees and judges are on summer holidays, and that should be understood – Kreso told us.

Zubac was supposed to have had a hearing scheduled for entering a plea regarding charges of abuse of office and dereliction of duty in service, a few weeks after the indictment was confirmed.

He is accused of failing to act in accordance with the law in the case of the terrorist attack on the Presidency of BiH on February 7, when it was set on fire. Two individuals were previously arrested and released due to setting the building on fire, but an investigation for terrorism is still ongoing against them. On the other hand, the indictment against Zubac has been confirmed and is final, and the start of the trial is expected. For the stated reasons, Kreso could not specify when the trial of the SIPA director will begin for Patria.
