Antitetanus vaccine analysis results next week

The analyses of the antitetanus vaccine, for which side effects were reported in December last year among students in Sarajevo who received this vaccine at the Vrazova Health Center, are still unknown, reports the Patria News Agency.

Vaccination has been suspended all this time, and the tetanus vaccine, at the request of the Public Health Institute of FBiH, was sampled in cooperation with the pharmaceutical inspector of the Sarajevo Canton and, based on an extraordinary drug quality control, forwarded to the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Croatia.

- The control laboratory of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of BiH, based on a special drug quality control, conducted a laboratory quality control, as well as an administrative control of the complete accompanying documentation for batch 78/3 of the "Tetanus Vaccine" during the import of this drug into BiH in June 2013, which is why it was decided to forward the drug to a contract laboratory based on an extraordinary quality control. The quality control of the vaccine will be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia - say the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of BiH.

They further add that they are in constant contact with the Department of the Official Laboratory for Drug Testing of HALMED, and the completion of the testing is expected during the next week.
