Republika Srpska abolishes obstacles that previously prevented arms procurement

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - The draft law on amendments to the Law on Weapons and Ammunition further abolishes administrative barriers regarding the conditions for acquiring weapons, said a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, Srđan Obradović, during today's session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, RTRS reported, according to the Patria agency.

Explaining this draft law in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Obradović said that this legal solution repeals the legal provisions that stipulated obtaining a certificate that no misdemeanor proceedings are pending against a person as one of the conditions for acquiring weapons.

If this law is adopted, it means that in Republika Srpska, those against whom misdemeanor proceedings are pending will also be able to legally purchase weapons in the future.
