(Patria) - Representative unions within the Air Traffic Services Agency of BiH (BHANSA), as well as the Association of Air Traffic Controllers in BiH, welcomed the decision of the BiH Council of Ministers today, which, in accordance with Article 23 of the Law on BHANSA, enabled the temporary financing of the Agency.
"This decision represents a key step towards stabilizing the situation and preserving safety and continuity in the provision of civil aviation services," the unions and the Association said in a statement.
The unions, together with the Association, express their gratitude to all members of the Council of Ministers "who recognized the seriousness of the problem and showed institutional responsibility".
"We extend special thanks to the Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH, Edin Forto, whose personal commitment, consistency, and understanding of the complexity of BHANSA's work greatly contributed to finding a solution.
We also sincerely thank Muhamed Hasanović, Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH, for his continuous assistance during this process.
His legal advice, as well as his friendly approach, were invaluable in finding feasible and legal mechanisms that enabled the adoption of this decision.
We also owe gratitude to the Director of BHANSA, Davorin Primorac, who, within his competences, did everything in his power to preserve the operational capability and institutional sustainability of the Agency during this challenging period.
BHANSA's role in ensuring the safe and efficient airspace of BiH is of exceptional importance, both for passengers and airlines, and for the international reputation of our country in the field of air traffic.
By adopting this decision, the real threat of work stoppage, which would have had unforeseeable consequences, including endangering air traffic safety and negative economic impact, has been averted.
The unions emphasize that they will continue to actively monitor the situation and insist on the urgent adoption of a permanent systemic solution that will prevent future crisis scenarios. Stable and predictable financing of BHANSA is not just a technical issue, but a matter of essential state interest.
On behalf of the representative unions, we sincerely thank all colleagues, employees of BHANSA, for their patience in resolving this issue, and for never ceasing to be true professionals and for working with dignity despite all the challenges.
On behalf of the employees, we once again thank everyone who showed responsibility, especially Minister Forto, Deputy Minister Hasanović, and Director Primorac for their principled stance and dedication to the public interest.
And finally, special thanks go to the seventh estate and all media outlets that took their time and media space to give us the opportunity to highlight our problems," the representative unions and the Association of Air Traffic Controllers in BiH stated.
