National sitting volleyball team is the pride and the best the country has

Before the start of the session of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a reception was held for the players and management of the BiH national sitting volleyball team, who won their third gold medal at the World Championship in Poland, reports Patria.

Along with congratulations, it was emphasized that these athletes are the pride of BiH and the best the country has. As stated in the announcement, authorities at the state level of Bosnia and Herzegovina should also listen to this team.

The BiH national sitting volleyball team is the most trophy-winning sports collective with 18 medals won. At world championships, they have won three golds, one silver, and one bronze; at European championships, eight golds and one bronze; and at the Paralympic Games, two golds and two silvers. After the period from 2004 to 2006, this is the second time they have held all three titles simultaneously - European and world champion and Paralympic winner.

On the way to the medal, they defeated Kazakhstan, Croatia, and Brazil, in the quarterfinals Germany, in the semifinals Egypt, and in the final for the second time the team of Brazil. In addition to the world champion title, the BiH team received two more recognitions at the championship. Safet Alibašić was named the most valuable player, while Adnan Kešmer was the best libero.

The national team next year awaits the European Championship, and in 2016 the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, reports Patria.
