Reisul-ulema in Kamičani: The large number of criminals still at large is concerning

(Patria) - In Kozarac, as earlier in Srebrenica, we witness what was a crime, what was done to innocent people, and we constantly ask ourselves how this could have happened, what kind of consciousness and what kind of conscience allowed such a large number of people to be killed, said today in Kamičani the reisul-ulema of the Islamic Community (IC) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein-ef. Kavazović, before the funeral prayer for two victims of Prijedor and the Sana valley.

„We know, our holy books teach us, that whoever kills one person, it is as if they have killed the whole world. However, we must be aware that such people exist among us, they must be pursued and brought before the face of justice,” said the reisul-ulema.

He emphasized that the fact that a large number of criminals are still at large, and that a large number of cases are still pending in the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is particularly concerning.

„Also, what is noticeable is that a large number of persons who were killed in crimes and genocide have still not been found, which is unacceptable after all these years. I consider this unacceptable and that in a moral sense our society has not passed the test. If we can speak of morality, there was none in the nineties, and there is none today, that is concerning. I think that every normal person, who has any awareness and conscience about what happened, should be concerned by this fact that a large number of cases, criminals who are at large, have not been prosecuted, and that a large number of people who need to be buried are still waiting for that. How long this will last I do not know, but I know that everyone should raise their voice against it and confront themselves. This is a reckoning with all of us, not only with the criminals, but also with us who witness this and remain silent about it all,” said reisul-ulema Husein-ef. Kavazović.
