Reis-ul-ulema Kavazović: Support for MCSrebrenica, Survivors of Genocide and Preservation of BiH's Constitutional Order

(Patria) - Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein-ef. Kavazović expressed support for the work of the Srebrenica Memorial Center, survivors of genocide and preservation of the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Kavazović believes that the greatest constitutional and security crisis facing Bosnia and Herzegovina since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement has led to the Srebrenica Memorial Center, which preserves the memory of the victims of genocide, being forced to suspend its work.

"It is unacceptable that none of the domestic and international actors have addressed this issue and taken any steps to ensure the uninterrupted work of state institutions and the Srebrenica Memorial Center itself," said the reis-ul-ulema, announced the Public Relations Office of the Riyasat of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He added that this is just one of the consequences of unconstitutional and dangerous decisions made by irresponsible individuals gathered around the president of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity of the RS.

He stated that "it is unimaginable that the future of the small number of surviving victims of genocide and other systematic crimes, who have been encouraged to return to their homes, be left to the autocratic rule of the same individuals and institutions that committed the genocide, who deny it and glorify its perpetrators."

"Therefore, as reis-ul-ulema, I appeal to all state authorities to urgently establish the rule of law throughout the entire territory of the state, in accordance with the constitutional competencies of each level of government, and to ensure the uninterrupted work of the Srebrenica Memorial Center," said reis-ul-ulema Kavazović.
