Reisul-ulema Kavazović: What is happening in Gaza is our responsibility, us Muslims

(Patria) - Reisul-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein-ef. Kavazović stated that what is happening in Gaza is the responsibility of Muslims.

- What is happening in Gaza is our responsibility, us Muslims. There is no responsibility for Gaza outside of us. It is exclusively ours, just as there was no other responsibility for Srebrenica outside of us - said the Reisul-ulema addressing the participants of the symposium on Sufi tradition held in the Gazi Husrev-beg Library.

He also reminded that the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, all good people and saints taught that Muslims should never be weak.

- He spoke about strong and weak Muslims. Of course, he said that there is good in both, but strong Muslims are better than weak ones. Unfortunately, we have not learned lessons from our history. What is currently happening in Gaza is the result of our internal conflicts in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Sudan, Afghanistan, and across the Islamic world. We pray to God Almighty, first and foremost, that the conflicts among us cease. The moment that happens, we will be strong and powerful and able to protect our vulnerable. As long as we destroy each other, we will not be able to protect our vulnerable. We could not do it in Bosnia, and we cannot do it now in Gaza either - said Reisul-ulema Kavazović.

He also reminded that nations are born from blood and tears and that no nation can become independent and free without shedding blood for it. He added that he believes the current events in Gaza are also the birth of freedom.
