Reis Kavazović sends Eid al-Adha greeting: May obedience to God bring us closer

On the occasion of the upcoming Kurban Bayram 1438 AH, the Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina sent an Eid greeting to the faithful, reports Patria News Agency.

We present the greeting from Reis-ul-ulema Kavazović in its entirety:

- In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Dear brothers and sisters, dear believers.

In these moments, our thoughts are with the pilgrims in Mecca. We are proud of them and together with them, we utter words of praise to our Lord, Almighty Allah. We are one with them. May this unity of ours in faith also translate into the reality of our actions. May this belief bring us closer, may Hajj be our gathering place and forum, a place of hope for a better tomorrow for all people on earth.

A large number of our pilgrims have visited the Hajj sites this year. We draw lessons from their perseverance, even those of us who did not go. The unity in which they will be, and the purity of their faith, are inspirational for us in our many endeavors.

Therefore, let us be together, let us be one. May the word of God bring us closer and may our obedience to Him unite us. I call on all believers in our beautiful country to listen to this voice and to recognize its beauty in a time of deafening noise of division and destruction.

The Muslim pilgrimage and Kurban Bayram are also our remembrance of God's prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), and his blessed sons, Ismail and Ishak. It is also a reminder of the roots of all revealed religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. These messages of unity should be spoken and repeated constantly, so that they may be heard. That is why Muslims will share Eid tomorrow with their loved ones and all who live in the spirit of Abrahamic unity.

May Almighty Allah accept the rituals of our pilgrims and may they return to their families cleansed of sins. May He accept their prayers and ours for us and our homeland. May He also accept our sacrifices, our hopes for good in this world and the next.

I congratulate all Muslim men and women in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, and the Bosniak diaspora on Kurban Bayram.

I wish them to celebrate it in peace, happiness, and prosperity with their closest and dearest.
