Reis Kavazović: Srebrenica symbolises that such crimes have come to an end

Reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein ef. Kavazović said today in Potočari that "this is the holiest place for Bosniaks."

I will read you a hadith "when a dignitary of a people comes to you, show him respect". This is the Sunnah of Allah's Messenger. You who are Muslims and feel as such should respect that.

- Today, at this honourable place and on this day of our sorrow and pain, we mark the sad and long 20 years of genocide against Bosniaks, our brothers and sisters, our children and sons. This day is deeply and indelibly carved into the marble stone of our memory. We hope that the world feels the burden of evil we carry on our weak shoulders.

 

Srebrenica symbolises that such crimes have come to an end. This is the greatest message from this place and this is the greatest task of humanity in this time.

Our faith and tradition prescribe dignity towards martyrs.

The Reis said that the Islamic Community has declared Srebrenica and Žepa as martyr enclaves.
