Reis Kavazović to lead funeral for 284 martyrs from Tomašica

At this year's collective funeral, according to the latest information from the Institute for Missing Persons, 284 martyrs will be buried, primarily exhumed from the mass grave of Tomašica, it was announced by the Islamic Community in BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Among the numerous martyrs who will be prayed over this year are six sons and the husband of Hava Tatarević, five sons and the husband of Emina Hegić, and imam Sulejman ef. Dizdarević.

- The coffins with the remains will be collected on Saturday, 07/19/2014, from the Identification Center Šejkovača in Sanski Most, and from 1:30 PM they will be transported in an organized convoy through Sanski Most and Prijedor, and then placed at the stadium in Kozarac where the funeral prayer will be held the next day - it was stated.

The collective martyr's funeral for the murdered residents of Prijedor and Kozarac will be held in Kozarac, on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at the "Bratstvo" stadium, starting at 9:30 AM. The funeral prayer will be attended by the head of the Islamic Community, Husein ef. Kavazović, who will lead the funeral prayer.

- From May to August 1992, more than 3,500 thousand men, women, elderly, and children were killed in the area of Prijedor and Kozarac, the majority of whom were Bosniak Muslims. The bodies of the murdered were buried in pits, mine shafts, and designated mass graves. Some were exhumed and moved to other locations several times in order to hide them better. By God's will, most of the bodies have been found in the areas of about ten municipalities across our homeland - say the Islamic Community.

The last, and also the largest mass grave to date, both in BiH and in Europe, was found in Tomašica, from which 275 complete and 160 incomplete bodies were exhumed last year alone, NAP reports.
