Reis Kavazović: This is not only a grave moral downfall, but also a sin against God

On the occasion of the terrorist attacks in Paris, the Rais al-Ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein ef. Kavazović, issued a press release, which the Patria News Agency conveys in its entirety.

- I most strongly condemn the terrorist attacks in Paris and the murder of innocent people.

Expressing the deepest indignation, I remind on this occasion that the deliberate murder of one innocent person is an attack on all of humanity. This is not only a grave moral downfall that cannot be justified by anything, but also a sin against God. 

The Islamic Community and Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina express their deepest sympathy and solidarity with the French people in their pain. We remember the support and solidarity of French citizens when we went through the experience of sowing fear and terror in the recent past.

I am convinced that the French state and society will respond adequately to terrorism, but also that they will resolutely oppose the terrorists' intention to provoke anger and revenge against Muslims and Muslim communities in Europe with their attacks.

I especially call on Muslims in Europe to maintain peace and composure and to have no doubts: terrorists do not represent our faith or our community, and terrorism cannot be justified morally, religiously, or politically, states the press release from Reis Kavazović.
