Reis Kavazović: With Čengić's passing, Bosnia and Herzegovina lost a great patriot

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community (IZ) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein-ef. Kavazović, sent condolences to Hasan Čengić's family on the passing of the former president of the IZ Assembly in BiH.

"Last night I received the sad news that Hasan Čengić has passed away. With the sudden departure of our friend, Hasan Čengić, from this world, Bosnia and Herzegovina has lost a great patriot and a fighter for its statehood and independence. Bosniaks have lost a great contributor to the affirmation of all Bosniak national values, and the Islamic Community has lost a diligent member and a true friend," Kavazović stated.

As he pointed out, "all of us who knew Hasan Čengić feel great sadness and pain due to the loss of a brother and friend, but at the same time, we are proud to have collaborated with such a great and noble man."

"Dear family of our Hasan, on behalf of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in my own name, I extend my sincere condolences, with prayers to Almighty Allah to grant him the highest levels of His mercy. To you, dear Čengić family, may the Almighty grant strength and patience to cope with the loss of your dearest member and to persevere on the path He guided you on," the Reis-ul-ulema's condolences read.

The funeral prayer for Hasan Čengić, former president of the Assembly of the Islamic Community (IZ) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, will be held tomorrow in the courtyard of the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in Sarajevo at 11:00 AM.

The second funeral prayer and burial will take place at the Čengić family cemetery in Odžak near Ustikolina at 2:30 PM.
