The reconstruction of Aladža can be a spiritual initiation, equally challenging for Christians and Muslims, a cornerstone for the renewal of faith and spiritual revival, or a red flag for the faithless, the senseless, and the wretched, stated the Head of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein ef. Kavazović, today in Foča at the laying of the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the Aladža Mosque, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).
The foundation stone was laid today after the Friday prayer (džuma-namaz), which was led by the Head of the Islamic Community, who also delivered the sermon.
Among the numerous attendees at the ceremony were the General Director of the Directorate of Foundations of the Republic of Turkey, Adnan Ertem, and the Director of the Directorate of Foundations of the Islamic Community of BiH, Senaid Zajimović.
The Directorate of Foundations of the Republic of Turkey is the investor of the project. The agreement between the Directorate of Foundations of the Islamic Community and the Directorate of Foundations of the Republic of Turkey has enabled the reconstruction of the Aladža Mosque. The construction will be carried out by the renowned company "Sama Inşaat" from Bursa.
Reis Kavazović stated that this is a special blessed day for Foča and our homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- More than twenty years ago, at this very spot where we are praying the Friday prayer today, stood the Colorful (Aladža) Mosque. That magnificent house of God was built by the hand and skill of Hasan Nazir, to be a home for pious people who surrender to the Creator in prayer. Today, brothers and sisters, we are beginning the story of it anew, laying the first bricks for the rebirth of the home of the pious – stated ef. Kavazović.
He said that Aladža was never just a building, a collection of stone, metal, and mortar. That was only its visible exterior, which barbarians could touch and destroy with their dirty hands and even dirtier intentions.
- Aladža has always been the spirit of this beautiful city, a beauty that is imagined, carried as a memory, and always renewed. Evil and sin could never be justified by anything. Calling for hatred and revenge in the name of faith has always meant doing evil in its name, apostasy from God's Word, and serving the devil. Muslims and Orthodox Christians can live together, as they have lived for centuries. We depend on each other, both in everyday small matters and in difficult life circumstances, such as the floods we are experiencing – he emphasized, reports NAP.
