Reis Kavazović at Reception with King of Saudi Arabia

King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud hosted a reception at the Al-Yamamah Royal Palace for guests and participants of the International Conference «Islam and the Fight against Terrorism», which concluded in Mecca, reports the Patria news agency. 

Among those present at the reception were the Grand Mufti of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein ef. Kavazović, as well as the former Grand Mufti, Dr. Mustafa ef. Cerić. 

The gathering was addressed first by the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh, who also serves as President of the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League. On that occasion, he emphasised the importance of convening the Conference, as well as the attention and support provided by the Kingdom and King Salman. He particularly highlighted the King's readiness to invest efforts in Muslim unity and improving their situation.

Subsequently, the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, Dr. Abdullah Al Turki, also addressed the gathering. He stressed that the Conference on the role of Islam in combating terrorism is of great importance. „The scourge of terrorism poses a serious threat to both Muslim countries and the world in general. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the patronage and leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is investing enormous efforts in the fight against this scourge. The Conference produced significant conclusions and a declaration addressed to all of humanity and all institutions worldwide. The conclusions and the Mecca Declaration underscore the importance of joint efforts in the fight against terrorism.“

On behalf of the Conference participants, the former President of Sudan, Marshal Abdurrahman Mohammed Suvar Ez-Zeheb, addressed the gathering. He thanked the King for his personal efforts in suppressing and combating terrorism and called on him to continue investing efforts in resolving the phenomena of extremism and terrorism. He stated that among the conclusions adopted at the Conference, some were inspired by the Kingdom's experience in preventing and combating terrorism.

In the conclusions of the Conference participants, it was emphasised, among other things, that the experiences of the international community should also be taken into account in the context of cooperation, combating and preventing terrorism.

The King thanked the Conference participants for their contribution and called on them to continue correctly interpreting Islam, which is pure from all forms of violence and the destruction of human dignity. He also called on all countries and international institutions to resolutely confront the common danger threatening the entire world.

„Saudi Arabia is a blessed country, and its security and prosperity are the result of the application of Allah's Book and the Sunnah of His Prophet. As you know, the Kingdom's Constitution is Allah's Book and the Sunnah of His Prophet.

Islam is a religion of moderation, and we must follow what is stated in the Qur'an and the Sunnah of His Prophet, peace be upon him, and his honourable caliphs. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 'Make things easy for people and do not drive them away from the religion.' Today, there are people who drive others away from the religion and abuse Islam. We pray to Almighty Allah to guide them to the right path. This conference of yours is beneficial, God willing, first and foremost for Muslims. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is your country. It stands for moderate Islam, Islam guided by Allah's Book and the Sunnah of His Prophet and his righteous caliphs.

I pray to the Exalted Lord to protect us from radicalism and sectarianism, and to grant you every good and success in your future work“, stated, among other things, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as announced by the Riyasat of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
