Reis Kavazović initiated the formation of a Committee for Aid to the Rohingya People

Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein ef. Kavazović initiated the formation of a Committee for Support to the Rohingya People, which will work on informing the public of Bosnia and Herzegovina about the genocide against the Rohingya people and collecting aid for the victims, it was announced from the Islamic Community of BiH, reports Patria agency.

On this occasion, Reis-ul-ulema stated for RTV of the Islamic Community in BiH - BIR that the Islamic Community, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina, cannot do much to stop the genocide against the Rohingya people and to help them, but they must do as much as they can.

- No one knows better than Bosniaks what it means to be a victim of genocide and what it is like when the whole world turns its back on you and leaves you at the mercy of oppressors. Therefore, we, above all, have an obligation to raise our voice against the repetition of genocide anywhere in the world, but not only that, but also to try to alleviate the suffering of these people through concrete actions and our own sacrifices, or at least to convey the truth about what is happening to them in the hope that those who can stop this evil will do so - emphasized Reis-ul-ulema.

The Committee should gather prominent individuals from the Islamic Community, media, non-governmental sector, and economy, and will be open to all who have ideas on how the Islamic Community and BiH can help the Rohingya people - it was announced from the Office of Reis-ul-ulema.
