The fire engulfed almost the entire two-story house in the Berak settlement in Žepče in just one hour, after the fire broke out around six o'clock on Saturday morning, reported the local portal Zepce, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
Firefighters arrived at the scene quickly, but the flames had already engulfed the roof of the house and the upper floor, which could not be saved.
According to unofficial information, the fire broke out after the house chimney caught fire, but this will have to be confirmed by a forensic expert.
Firefighters advise citizens to regularly clean and inspect their chimneys, which are the cause of fires in a large number of cases, reports NAP.
