Devastating floods in HNK claim 19 lives, six people missing

(Patria) - According to official data from the Civil Protection Headquarters and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of HNK, the number of fatalities in the flood-affected areas of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNK) is 19.

Of the total number of fatalities, 16 are from Jablanica, and three from Konjic, the Government of HNK announced this evening.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an active search is underway in Konjic for two reported missing persons, and in Jablanica for four. Of the 19 fatalities, one body is still unidentified.

The Government of HNK reminds that traffic communication between Mostar and Jablanica, and Jablanica and Blidinje, is still interrupted, while traffic between Jablanica and Prozor-Rama is difficult.

"Police are directing drivers to alternative routes. Cars and trucks without trailers can travel on the section from Jablanica to Konjic. All corridors are open for rescue and other emergency services," the Government of HNK added.
