(Patria) - The number of employed persons according to the employee's place of residence as of June 30, 2024, in the Federation of BiH was 549,119.
According to data from the Tax Administration of FBiH, of that number, 306,181 are men and 242,938 are women.
According to the employment structure, the working-age population up to 35 years of age comprises 174,890 workers, while those aged 36 to 66 number 374,229.
According to Tax Administration data, the number of employed persons up to 20 years of age is 8,123. From 21 to 25 years there are 37,550 persons, from 26 to 30 years 65,734, from 31 to 35 years 63,483, from 36 to 45 years 156,882, from 46 to 55 years 131,983 employed, and from 56 to 64 years 81,496. The number of employed persons aged 66 is 3,868.
The number of pensioners in FBiH is 450,169, and 290 million KM was needed for the payment of pensions for July. For example, the number of pensioners in November 2023 was 441,735. That number has increased by just under 9,000 in less than a year.
The difference between the number of employed and the number of pensioners is 98,950. If we compare the data that the Tax Administration of FBiH sent today, the number of employed as of July 31, 2024, is 547,980, which means there was a decrease of 1,139 workers and that the difference between employed and pensioners is even smaller. Thus, based on these data, in July it amounts to 97,811.
Given these numbers, it is clear what the Government of the Federation of BiH fears and why it has slowed down the adoption of the set of fiscal laws that would reduce the tax rate. Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić announced that the reduction of contributions would significantly affect budget filling, while social benefits and pensions would not be jeopardized.
