Different Statements: Skaka Claims Bandić Supported Him, While Bandić Sees Him as Just One of the Guests

On Friday, September 2nd, Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka and Mayor of Zagreb Milan Bandić visited children staying in Novi Vinodolski. Children from Sarajevo, Kyiv, and countries of the Middle East are vacationing together, reports the Patria News Agency.  

This news was presented in two completely different ways by the City Administration of Sarajevo and the official website of the City of Zagreb, leaving the public confused about what actually happened during Skaka's visit to Zagreb and who supported whom.

As stated in the press release from the City Administration of Sarajevo, "Bandić expressed his satisfaction that Deputy Mayor Abdulah Skaka came from Sarajevo, expressing his belief that it is precisely such young people who will take on leadership roles in their businesses and cities."

It further states that Bandić invited the people of Sarajevo to support young people who know how to spread positive energy, and after that, there will be more smiles and happiness on the faces of children.

However, the press release from the City of Zagreb makes no mention of this meeting or the alleged support for Skaka, only mentioning him as one of the guests who happened to be in Novi Vinodolski that day, along with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Croatia.

On the other hand, in video statements published by Croatian media, Bandić did not mention Skaka, focusing exclusively on the children staying in Novi Vinodolski.

This is clear evidence that Skaka, who has a great desire to "manage" Sarajevo and take the mayor's seat, does not shy away from any means for personal promotion. He misused his visit with Bandić to the children, thus creating the impression in the public that the Mayor of Zagreb supported him.

Perhaps Skaka would be better off answering the question of why the implementation project for the Trebević cable car has not yet been submitted to the Municipality of Old Town so that the building permit can finally be issued and 500,000 KM paid for this project, rather than issuing statements for personal electoral promotion.

At the end of August, Skaka told the Patria agency that the construction of the Trebević cable car would also depend on the results of the local elections.

It is now more than clear that he is using this extremely important project for the City of Sarajevo and all its citizens for personal promotion and election campaigning. If he wins, according to Skaka's message, and becomes mayor because he sees himself in that position, then there will be a cable car. If someone else wins, this project will not happen.
