War criminal Momčilo Krajišnik drove 150,000 Serbs out of Sarajevo

Media in Republika Srpska, as well as Serbia, have been trying to create an epic portrayal of the Serb exodus from Sarajevo for 19 years, failing to mention how the SDS at the time, led by criminal Radovan Karadžić, organized the expulsion of the people they claimed to represent, writes the Patria news agency.

This is also the case today, with the commemoration of the 19th anniversary of the departure of Sarajevo Serbs from their homes concluding with a memorial service, lighting candles for the souls of the deceased, and laying wreaths at the central memorial cross for fallen soldiers from the Sarajevo battlefield, who were transferred and buried in the Bratunac cemetery!?

Unfortunately, instead of realizing 19 years later that they were merely pawns for Karadžić and Momčilo Krajišnik in their hellish plan to create ethnically clean territories, speeches like the one in Bratunac are still being given.

- Sarajevo Serbs had no dilemma. They did not want to accept Muslim rule. Freedom meant more to them than anything, and they left everything behind to live freely in Republika Srpska, for which they fought and which they love, regardless of the conditions and standard of living - said Vidomir Banduka, Association "Sarajevo Serbs".

When it became clear in December 1995 that the siege of Sarajevo was to end, Krajišnik's role became particularly prominent.

He was tasked with forcing 150,000 Sarajevo Serbs to leave their homes through threats and intimidation. Many had hoped that the Hague indictment, which accused him of ethnic cleansing of Bosniaks and Croats, would also include the expulsion of Serbs, but this did not happen.

During the Dayton negotiations, Slobodan Milošević decided not to concern himself with Sarajevo anymore, and the SDS members reacted to his abandonment of the city by initiating the exodus of Serbs from the Sarajevo area.

A public campaign for emigration was initiated, primarily targeting urban areas in the immediate vicinity of the city.

While Ilidža, Grbavica, Rajlovac, Nedžarić, Vrac, and Vogošća were being reintegrated, Krajišnik, through the Pale media, urged Serbs to leave their houses and apartments.

Everyone was threatened, and every Serb who decided to stay was declared a traitor.

One hundred and fifty thousand Serbs from the immediate Sarajevo area moved to RS between December 1995 and March 1996, while some went to Montenegro or Serbia.

- If my house in Zabrđe (Rajlovac settlement) went to the Federation, why should you keep your houses and apartments, the then convicted Hague criminal Momčilo Krajišnik stated.
