War criminal Milomir Đuričić dies while serving sentence for crimes in Višegrad

(Patria) - Milomir Đuričić, convicted for crimes in the Višegrad camp "Uzamnica", died while serving a prison sentence in Banja Luka.

This information was confirmed by his lawyer Ahmed Fejzić for Detektor.ba.

"I received information from the prison in Vojkovići that he died," Fejzić said, adding that they told him Đuričić died a day or two ago.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced Milomir Đuričić and Vukadin Spasojević to a total of 16 years in prison for crimes committed in 1992 and 1993 at the "Uzamnica" camp in Višegrad.

Đuričić was sentenced to five years in prison, final last year, in his capacity as manager of "Uzamnica" from August 1992 to April 1993. He died while serving his sentence.

He was found guilty because he did not prevent subordinates from abusing detainees and forcing them into sexual intercourse, while Spasojević was sentenced to 11 years in prison for forcing detained women and men into sexual intercourse and physical abuse.

Đuričić was acquitted of the charge that he authorized the taking of prisoners for forced labor.

The indictment against him was confirmed in December 2021, and his trial began in March of the following year.

Vukadin Spasojević is at large.
