WAR WOUNDS Canton announces aid for reconstruction of building in Dobrinja

(Patria) - Citizens living in Petra Tiješići Street in the Dobrinja IV settlement have been waiting for years for the renovation of the building damaged during the siege of Sarajevo.

They were visited today by Minister Enver Hadžiahmetović and Deputy Speaker of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly Danijela Kristić, who announced Canton aid for the reconstruction of the facade, roof, and installations.

"The building where people live is in a very bad condition and needs to be reconstructed in a short period. Besides the Canton, the Novi Grad Municipality and the property manager must also get involved, but even if there is no such support, we will finance this project within our capabilities," said Minister Hadžiahmetović.

Arnel Hodžić has been the representative of the co-owners of 5 entrances within the building, where 82 families live, for a year and a half. He points out that they have many problems because the building was on the front line and suffered significant damage.

"Despite over 20 submissions to municipal and cantonal authorities, this is the first time someone has responded to the citizens' call. Without government assistance, we are unable to carry out the building's renovation ourselves," said Hodžić.
