Interpol warrant issued for Đukić

Interpol has issued a warrant for Novak Đukić to serve his prison sentence for the crime committed at Tuzla Gate, BIRN - Justice Report announced. The warrant for Đukić was issued at the request of the BiH Court. Đukić holds Serbian citizenship, where he is currently located, Patria reports.

Đukić, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison, has no intention of returning to BiH to serve his sentence, Duško Tomić, one of his lawyers, previously told BIRN.

He can serve his sentence in Serbia, which signed an agreement with BiH in 2010, preventing finally convicted persons from avoiding serving their sentences.

- After the convicted person is located, further measures will be taken to execute the prison sentence, which includes the possibility of sending a request to the judiciary of the Republic of Serbia to take over the execution of the prison sentence - the BiH Court previously announced.
