RAK: Deadline for lawful interception obligations expires on November 1st

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Communications Regulatory Agency (RAK) has informed all institutions, legal entities, and other users that the deadline for telecommunications operators to fully and completely fulfill their lawful interception obligations expires on November 1st, and that after this date, services from non-compliant operators may be suspended.

Following the notification from the Joint Committee for Lawful Interception and the Manner of Execution of Activities (ZUO) regarding the non-fulfillment of mandated lawful interception obligations, the Agency will take legally prescribed enforcement measures against all legal and natural persons providing telecommunications services, administering telecommunications networks, and conducting telecommunications activities in terms of ensuring and maintaining capacities. These measures include imposing fines and mandating the cessation of services until the prescribed lawful interception conditions are met.

In this regard, the Agency appeals to service users to contact their operators to inquire whether they will fulfill their legal obligations by the deadline.

This will enable users to take timely action to protect their data, economic, legal, and other interests, as well as to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of their technological systems and services.

Information on all Agency license holders to whom this legal obligation applies is available on the Agency's website.

Furthermore, the Agency appeals to operators who have not yet taken the mandated actions to fulfill the legal conditions to promptly undertake all necessary activities to protect the rights and interests of their users. This includes timely termination of user contracts and taking all actions that facilitate user migration to the networks and services of other, compliant, operators.
