Radunović from DF: We will have to call some of our friends from the opposition for government

(Patria) - High-ranking official of the Democratic Front, Slaven Radunović, said that the "For the Future of Montenegro" Coalition won 36.02 percent of the votes based on 182,000 counted ballots.

"This is a huge sample for Montenegrin circumstances, we expect certain shifts, but as of today, DPS and other parties are no longer in power", said Radunović.

He stated that they hope to be the winners, i.e., "stronger than DPS".

"We have to disappoint our voters, we will not be able to form a government on our own, we will have to call some of our friends from the opposition", said Radunović, RTCG reports.

Vladimir Pavićević from the "Peace is Our Nation" coalition announced at a press conference that, according to current information, the opposition is doing very well.

"Election results are being collected and processed at the central election headquarters. The trends are good, which means that at this moment the opposition is doing really well, and DPS is doing really poorly. We will announce the final information at a press conference very soon. We can say that the opposition has a historic chance to remove DPS from power at all levels and in all municipalities," stated Pavićević.

He said that, judging by the current information, it is a historic chance to, as he said, finally remove DPS from power after 30 years.

"In Nikšić, Budva, Kotor, Herceg Novi, Berane, Plužine, DPS has been knocked out, and in Pljevlja it has been devastated, that is the information we have at the moment," stated Pavićević.

"Victory is certain"

The holder of the list of the "For the Future of Montenegro" coalition, Zdravko Krivokapić, said that the turnout in today's elections was around 77 percent, stating that this means the regime has fallen.

He thanked the citizens for their sacrifice, persistence, and dignity, which, as he stated, they showed during the day.

"Regardless of everything we went through during this cycle, where there was intimidation, and very inflammatory rhetoric that aimed at only one goal – to reduce turnout, that turnout is around 77 percent. That means – the regime has fallen," said Krivokapić.
