Reconstruction works on the sidewalk in front of the BiH Presidency building

Works on the reconstruction of the sidewalk in Maršala Tita Street in front of the main, or ceremonial entrance, to the building of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina began in the middle of last week. Workers of the construction company "Sela" have removed the entire damaged asphalt and concrete base along the entire section located between Musala and Reisa Džemaludina Čauševića streets, it was announced from the Municipality of Centar, reports Patria News Agency.

- After removing the entire load-bearing structure, we laid a new sub-base, and starting tomorrow, we plan to begin the construction of a storm water regulation system. After that, a reinforced concrete base will be laid, on which granite cubes (cobblestones) will be placed. The project also includes the installation of hydraulic ramps at the main entrance approach, and the reconstruction of the fence around the green areas. If the weather permits and there are no other delays in the works, we plan to complete this project within the given deadline of 75 days - explained Mesud Zimić, site manager of the company "Sela".

The financiers of the project are the Municipality of Centar and the Directorate for Roads of the Federation of BiH, which jointly allocated 363,000 marks, while the main project for the reconstruction of the sidewalk was done by the company "Es Hydrotechnics" from Sarajevo, and the supervision is entrusted to the company "Coning" d.o.o. Sarajevo.

As the building of the Presidency of BiH is a national monument, before the start of the works, during the collection of the necessary documentation, a positive expert opinion was obtained from the Institute for the Protection of Monuments, which is part of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sport.
