Construction of the First Transversal to begin around October 20

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Centar Municipality today issued a building permit for the first section of the First Transversal, specifically for the part of Halida Kajtaza Street from the intersection with Kranjčevićeva to the intersection with Tešanjska Street. It was announced that by the end of the week, the Novo Sarajevo Municipality will also issue a building permit for the part of this section located in their area.

As emphasized at today's regular coordination meeting of representatives of the competent institutions of the Canton, City, and Municipalities, chaired by KS Prime Minister Mario Nenadić, the construction of this section is planned to begin around October 20, as all prerequisites have been met with the issuance of the aforementioned permits.

It was also highlighted that by tomorrow, the public utility company „Rad“ will complete the removal of the protective fence, after the buildings at Tešanjska 21 and 23 were demolished.

It was agreed that all relevant entities will submit their new proposals to the previously developed Action Plan, so that it can be adopted in a revised and supplemented form in seven days.

„The First Transversal needs to be built in accordance with the mentioned action plan that needs to be adopted, and in sections, so that all subsequent steps for its construction can be accelerated in a systematic manner and in accordance with regulations and laws,“ stated Prime Minister Nenadić.

Representatives of the Centar Municipality informed those present that the Federal Geodetic Administration, as the second-instance body, informed them that the company „Penny Plus“ has withdrawn its appeal regarding parcelation, thus creating the conditions for the start of the negotiation process with this company.

The Mayor of the Vogošća Municipality, Edin Smajić, emphasized the need to complete the main project for the section from the tunnel to the Vogošća interchange as soon as possible, and integrally.

As he pointed out, this is necessary because it is a prerequisite for the preparation of the elaboration for the implementation of expropriation, which involves extremely complex terrain and utility infrastructure.
