Radončić for Patria: Last night we had the opportunity to watch how a coup d'état is prevented in Montenegro

Last night we witnessed an attempted coup d'état in Montenegro, and we also saw how that coup d'état was prevented – journalist and publicist Šeki Radončić told the BiH news agency Patria, commenting on the violent demonstrations by supporters of part of the opposition in Podgorica, which the police managed to break up on Saturday evening.

Demonstrations on the streets of Podgorica have been ongoing almost without interruption for more than a month, during which several people have been injured.

Hundreds of demonstrators in Podgorica, among whom the most vocal is the Chetnik duke Andrija Mandić, oppose Montenegro's entry into NATO, and they are trying to stop the entry by inciting mass riots. 

Last night, the demonstrators conditioned Prime Minister Milo Đukanović to resign and for a transitional government to be formed, which would consist of all parliamentary parties in Montenegro.

Radončić explains that there is no longer any doubt that Belgrade stands behind the demonstrations, as an extended arm of official Moscow, which has publicly stated that the protests are in Montenegro's interest, not against the country. He also believes that the forces that attempted a coup d'état in Montenegro were defeated last night, but this is only one battle in a war that will surely last longer.

- We must not forget that the interests of the two largest military powers in the world are being played out in small Montenegro – says Radončić.

A group of men with masks on their faces again showered the police with firecrackers, flares, stones, and burning bottles of gasoline last night... The special forces responded with tear gas and stun grenades, after which they broke up the demonstrations. More than a dozen people were arrested.

Radončić believes that this was a forced move by the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, who is trying to calm the situation in Montenegro, writes Patria.
