Radončić desires a rotten compromise, i.e., betrayal of the state!

(Patria) - After meeting with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Matthew Palmer, SBB President Fahrudin Radončić addressed reporters.

“International mediators are making great efforts to reach a joint solution. I don’t want to be pessimistic, but I don’t have any happy news that the positions of the, conditionally speaking, Croatian and Bosniak blocs have come closer. 

We have a very complicated situation in the FBiH, one doesn’t need to be a great enthusiast to think that such big, difficult issues that have lasted for a decade can be resolved in a few meetings. What is important is that Mr. Izetbegović and Mr. Čović are making maximum efforts to reach a compromise. That compromise is still far away. I continue to advocate for an indirect way of electing members of the BiH Presidency; if it were done in the BiH Parliament, there would be no floating or drifting cantons, and we would avoid allusions to a third entity. Negotiations are still ongoing, and we should root for them to succeed,” said Radončić.

From the statement he gave, it is very easy to read that Radončić, by returning to the indirect model, further complicates matters, because it is clear that this would extend the issue of the Election Law to Republika Srpska as well.

The mind games continue, and invoking compromise and introducing some new/old ideas that further burden the entire process are some of the proofs that Radončić is deviating from the document he signed with other opposition parties in the FBiH, where the 'indirect method of election' is not even mentioned.

“After the adoption of the aforementioned amendments that will guarantee fair and honest elections, one can proceed to the Amendments to the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with the binding judgments of the European Court of Human Rights and the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina concerning the structure, method of election, and powers of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Houses of Peoples. The signatories of the conclusions believe that these amendments should be adopted as a unified set of amendments to the normative framework in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, in the same session of the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples,” the conclusion states.

Radončić very skillfully 'forgot' to mention the Houses of Peoples and their reduction in his statement today, which would prevent blockades, and which we have been witnessing in practice for years!

He also avoided explaining whether the issue of the Houses of Peoples and the Presidency should be resolved as a package.

How inclined he is towards the HDZ was also proven in his answer to journalists when commenting on yesterday’s session of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament, i.e., the vote by HDZ delegates to annul Inzko’s law prohibiting the denial of genocide.

“It is not appropriate for me to reveal what I heard in private, that Croatian votes were given to SNSD with the best intention of preserving SNSD in the negotiation process, and not because HDZ wants to be a partner to SNSD and Dodik. HDZ knew that it practically could not pass yesterday, they raised their hand more to preserve SNSD as part of the agreement, and not as part of the problem,” said Radončić.

Radončić clearly, in accordance with his political positions, desires a rotten compromise at the expense of ethnic policies, which is nothing other than the ethnic division of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Such a stance by Radončić only confirms Patria’s findings that the envisioned model for amending the BiH Election Law was already drafted several months ago on the Dragan Čović - Fahrudin Radončić - EU Delegation in BiH line, and that in this regard, it was presented to international officials through secondary diplomatic channels as the easiest possible option.

According to that option, the demands of the HDZ would essentially be met, which explains the diligent advocacy of the SBB leader for the HDZ’s so-called legitimate representation and his lobbying in the SDA and SDP with the aim of meeting the HDZ’s demands under the pressure of international officials.
