Radončić: Germany and France became the greatest allies after the war, that is what our region needs too

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - SBB President Fahrudin Radončić assessed that new conflicts are not possible in Bosnia and Herzegovina, primarily due to the presence of EUFOR, but also because citizens would hardly decide to go to war for current politicians after all the conflicts that have befallen the country.

He assessed that Bosnia and Herzegovina needs new political concepts that will lead the country from the back of Europe forward and make citizens more satisfied.

"War must be waged exclusively in the field of Euro-Atlantic integrations, regional stabilization and economic development," Radončić said in the Telering show on RTRS, as reported by the Patria agency.

The SBB President warned that enormous crime is happening in the country, which the judiciary has not prosecuted. He stated that if law enforcement agencies "by any chance spent only ten percent of the energy they devoted to me, the situation in the country would be different."

He accused SDA President Bakir Izetbegović of often not keeping his word after agreements between coalition partners, and that this is one of the main causes of strained relations between him and HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović, "which have moved from the political field to personal scores, which Radončić assesses as causing damage to citizens and Bosnia and Herzegovina."

On the other hand, Radončić believes it would not be fair to blame the entire SDA for the bad situation in the country, "but the leadership of that party certainly bears that responsibility."

"The SDA is not the radical right, not all of Bakir's voters are the radical right... there are very smart and successful people there who are pro-European oriented. In 80 percent of cases, perhaps more, the SDA is pro-Western oriented. Let's leave aside the leadership that grabbed the wheel in a feudal manner and doesn't ask anyone," Radončić said.

"That is why the situation in their internal ranks is falling apart."

Asked what exactly he will offer citizens in the elections in October 2018, he said that he asks Bosniaks, as well as Serbs and Croats in the Federation, to give trust to the SBB to be the backbone of the government for the first time. He reminded that the SBB has so far been "in a train where the engine driver was from the SDA." If the SBB does not succeed in two years, he stated, they will withdraw themselves. Radončić said that the goal of the SBB is to return the country to an economic course, harmonize relations among Bosniaks, and then among all peoples in the country.

"Let's try once without the SDA, people, it can't get any worse," Radončić said, adding that the fact that BiH is at the back of the region is not the fault of the European Union, but of internal relations in BiH. On the other hand, Radončić emphasized that he absolutely believes in the potential of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Speaking about relations in the region, Radončić said that reconciliation will have to come sooner or later. He cited the example of the war between Germany and France, which are now the greatest collaborators.

"The two greatest historical enemies became allies," Radončić reminded, adding that in BiH and the region, there is a need for the exchange of young people and the exchange of ideas.
