Radončić: We can move BiH towards the EU while fully respecting our Bosniak identity and faith

I am convinced that Bosnia and Herzegovina has a strong outstretched hand from Brussels, from European and Western countries, and that we can move BiH forward, return it to its natural state, while fully respecting our Bosniak identity and faith - said Fahrudin Radončić, president of the Alliance for a Better Future (SBB), as a guest on the show "Interview 20" hosted by Sanela Prašović-Gadžo, which aired on BHT1 television, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

And, on that path of progress, Radončić further said, all its peoples can help Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- BiH's multi-ethnicity is its great advantage. Because, it is very important for us to have Croats who will lobby for us in many European countries, to have Serbs who will lobby in other countries, to lobby together somewhere else, and for us Bosniaks to lobby somewhere fourth - said Radončić.

In a very open interview, the founder of SBB answered questions such as why he ran for the Presidency of BiH in the October elections, the booing of the audience in Zenica, why he believes he is popular among the people... He spoke about his own life and upbringing in a working-class family.

When asked how he commented on the praise from the US Assistant Secretary of State during his time as BiH Minister of Security, Radončić said that he believes a politician is only as strong as they are on the domestic front, among their own people...

- As Minister of Security, I did my job in the best interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina. If this contributes to strengthening the security situation of our strategic allies, and the US is one, then even better. We should do our job for ourselves, for our own interest; compliments can be pleasing, but on the other hand, it should not be a reason for us to think about American interests more than our own. Where these interests align, it's even better - said Radončić, reports NAP.
