Konaković: Radončić has intriguing statements, I don't know if the government or opposition should ask him

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - President of the People and Justice Party Elmedin Konaković said today at a press conference that there is no debt of this party towards the SBB because it participates in preserving the parliamentary majority in the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton, and that the president of that party, Fahrudin Radončić, gives confusing statements, making it unclear whether he is in power or opposition. 

„What does SBB mean to us? We do not generalize people; we respond to them in accordance with their actions. When they betrayed the six-party coalition, we told them you will now sit on the bench, you did not deserve it, we do not trust you, and we sent them to the bench. They paid a high political price for what they did, both them and DF, because they obviously stopped an excellent project for their own interests, which continued with three fewer members but even stronger and more resilient in this concept. The truth is that SBB is sometimes very fair in the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton and behaves accordingly. They have a responsibility towards their voters; they owe us nothing, nor do we owe them anything for that, God forbid. We do not trade politically with anyone. If we had wanted to trade, we could have done everything that SBB and DF attempted. That does not interest us; we are interested in a concrete programmatic coalition. And it is more a question for SBB what they are today, whether they are in power or opposition. Radončić probably confuses sometimes when he talks about this common front, appearance, sometimes with Izetbegović, sometimes with the opposition; I might understand him, but the public might not. Ask him what he means by his statements, which, it is true, are a bit intriguing. We want every party that has a state-building concept and can contribute to stabilizing the situation in BiH to grow stronger in this country,” said Konaković.

When asked by Patria whether cooperation with the SDA as a state-building party is then an option, Konaković said:

„And when we start talking to them about a joint appearance in the RS where we would have joint lists, we say give us some draft on what we should gather around, and they send us their usual draft: we have this many positions, and you have that many. We do not agree to that; we are not interested in that kind of politics. The SDA does not look like a party that is recovering or changing its concept, and until now, if we had wanted, we would have formed a coalition. It is unquestionable that on some state issues, our positions will align to go together, but programmatically, I do not see what we can agree on, except for someone to stand by them and pick up the political shrapnel of their agreement with Čović. Since we know them best, we do not agree to that; let them find some new victims. If there is sincerity in some political process, let them tell us what that process is for which they need us,” said the president of NIP.
