ZRAK workers on strike again, salaries are late and the company has no account to operate

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Workers of the Zrak company from Sarajevo, 108 of them, have turned off their machines and gone on strike. They have not been paid salaries and hot meals for August, September, December, and hot meals for November.

An additional problem they face is the inability to open an account through which the company would operate. Due to the catastrophic situation in the company, workers are constantly leaving.

"As many as 20 colleagues have already left the company - and I think I will leave too. No one can endure not receiving a salary, some colleagues are in debt, banks are calling, demanding their money, it's very difficult," says Amir Demirović.

We remind you that Zrak is a company whose activity is the development and production of devices in the field of electromechanics, optics, and electronics. Workers blame the government for this situation because, instead of strengthening the defense industry, they are leading it to ruin.

"Besides these salaries that we are demanding - we will not give up until we get them - we demand that the Government finally start thinking about this company, to start acting like a mother, not a stepmother," says Emir Kominlija, president of the Zrak Trade Union.

Employees are calling on the Government of the Federation of BiH and the relevant minister to resolve the problem.

"Until they pay us everything, until they register our service - until they make a normal company that can function normally, so that we can receive a normal salary month after month, and not like this, receive one and then have nothing for three months - we will not allow it," adds Mirsad Ademović, vice-president of the Zrak Trade Union.

If the financial problems are resolved, this company has enormous potential and could once again become one of the leaders in the defense industry of BiH, as well as the region.
