Workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina trapped in Sochi, receiving only 2 euros a day to survive

The editorial office of BN television was contacted by a group of about 50 construction workers from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, temporarily working in Russia, who claim that for seven months they have been practically trapped in the town of Krasnaya Polyana, near Sochi, because their employer, the company “Novigorod”, has not paid them a single salary during that period, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria. 

One of the workers, Srđan Borovčanin, who lives in Bijeljina, says the current situation is hopeless for them.

-For seven months, no one has received a salary. In those seven months, we have received maybe 500 euros each. People go to work, but they don't know why they are going. There are four of us who refuse to go to work at all. We want to go strictly home, and no one is taking care of us. We only receive 2 euros a day for lunch. So, it's chaos.

Borovčanin confirmed in a telephone conversation that the workers were supposed to have already left for home, but their tickets have not been provided, and they have no money for the trip.

-They won't let us go home, and people won't go home without money. We tried something through the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but no one is taking care of us. We were supposed to go home and be paid, but again the boss tricked us. This is the third time they have lied to us that we will go home, from Saturday to Saturday, and we have brought our families to a catastrophic situation, says Borovčanin.
