Granit workers can still count on SDP support

President of the SDP Cantonal Committee of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Zoran Mikulić, together with Vice-President of the Assembly of HNC Vesna Saradžić, representative in the Assembly of HNC Amer Zagorčić, President of the SDP Municipal Board of Jablanica Damir Šabanović and member of the Presidency of SDP BiH Svetozar Pudarić, spoke with Granit workers, reports the Patria news agency, the SDP announced.

The workers informed the SDP officials about the latest developments in this company and certain shameful decisions of some judicial instances that represent a return of Granit several years back and again threaten complete destruction and handing over the fate of workers into the hands of criminals and well-connected mafia structures, apparently involved even in certain state and judicial institutions.

At the meeting with the workers, it was emphasized that the SDP has always been with the Granit workers, even in those times when certain criminal groups abused even the police for their own purposes.

In the previous term starting from 2010, the SDP, as part of the government, did everything possible to restart production in Granit and return workers to their jobs. With much effort, together with the workers, we succeeded in that.

Now it is evident that those who were demolishing and destroying Granit even 5 years ago have not given up on the same project, but have reactivated the same project at the first opportunity in conjunction with well-known political and institutional circles, with the sole aim of satisfying private and personal interests, and enriching themselves exclusively at the expense of workers and their families.

The fight for Granit is obviously not over yet, because it is completely clear to anyone even slightly better informed that the new ruling establishment, just as it has never done anything for the Granit workers before, will not do so now either. Quite the opposite.

The SDP will continue to be at the disposal of Granit workers in the fight against criminal interest and political groups. In the capacity that belongs to us through assembly and parliamentary benches, Granit workers can still count on SDP support in articulating their justified demands, the SDP statement reads.
